At our school, we believe learning is one of life's great joys. Education is more than preparing children for the next grade—it is preparing children for a lifetime of curiosity, wisdom, and joyful discovery.

Inspired by the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason, we believe children are naturally curious and capable of engaging with rich ideas. They deserve an education filled with beautiful books, meaningful conversations, careful observation, purposeful work, and opportunities to delight in the world around them.

Our goal is not simply to help students know more, but to help them love learning, pursue what is true, good, and beautiful, and grow in knowledge, character, and confidence.

These convictions shape every aspect of our curriculum. Through an atmosphere of wonder, the discipline of consistent and purposeful learning, and a life enriched by meaningful experiences, we seek to cultivate students who are thoughtful, capable, and eager to continue learning long after they leave our classroom.

Wonder

Wonder is where learning begins.

Through living books, nature study, art, music, poetry, and thoughtful exploration, students encounter ideas that awaken curiosity and invite deeper understanding. Rather than rushing from one topic to the next, we encourage children to slow down, notice carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and delight in discovering God's world.

This year, our study of American history will come alive through beloved American Girl stories alongside biographies, maps, historical resources, and hands-on projects. By experiencing history through engaging literature, students develop not only historical understanding but also empathy, imagination, and a deeper appreciation for those who came before them.

Wisdom

True learning grows steadily over time.

We believe children flourish through focused lessons that build carefully upon one another. Each day adds another stone to a strong academic foundation, allowing understanding to deepen naturally while preserving the joy of learning.

Students receive thoughtful instruction in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, mathematics, science, history, and the arts through carefully selected curriculum and rich learning experiences. Rather than pursuing busy work or unnecessary repetition, we value meaningful practice that leads to lasting mastery. Through narration, discussion, writing, and creative expression, students learn not only to remember what they have studied but to make it their own.

Character

Education shapes far more than the mind.

Within our multi-age classroom community, students learn alongside one another in ways that encourage kindness, responsibility, perseverance, generosity, and leadership. Older students naturally mentor younger classmates, while younger students are inspired by those who have gone before them.

Character is also cultivated through the stories students encounter. Through living books, biographies, historical accounts, and meaningful literature, children meet individuals who demonstrate courage, compassion, perseverance, humility, and wisdom. These stories invite students to consider what is true, good, and beautiful while inspiring them to grow in virtue and understanding.

We believe education is not only about gaining knowledge, but about becoming the kind of person who uses that knowledge well. As students grow academically, we also seek to cultivate grateful hearts, wise choices, and a love for God, others, and the world He has made.

We believe that all truth, beauty, and knowledge ultimately reveal something of God's character. Through the people they encounter, the ideas they explore, and the community they share, students are encouraged to recognize His goodness and reflect it in their own lives.

  • Spelling & Grammar:McGuffey's Eclectic Spelling Book
  • Science: Various nonfiction titles and reference guides
  • American History: Living literature featuring the beloved American Girl series, biographies, maps, and historical resources
